Super Bug
Super Bug is an arcade game developed, manufactured, and released by Atari in 1977. The game was originally titled City Driver. Originally titled City Driver, the video game Super Bug was the first to be designed and programmed by Howard Delman. Delman stated in an interview that he had to learn a lot of the game development process during the nine months it took to create Super Bug. uper Bug is a simple black and white driving game, very innovative during the time of its release. It is said to have a strong influence on some other arcade games, like Rally-X, Monte Carlo, and even some SNK Neo-Geo ones.

Description

Super Bug is a racing game for one player. The player controls a car resembling a yellow Volkswagen Beetle. The goal is to race as far as possible before fuel runs out. The game uses a top-down perspective and unlike earlier games scrolls in four directions. The player uses a gas pedal, steering wheel and gear shift to control the car which can drive in all directions. Oil slicks and sand banks. The player must also avoid collision with the track boundaries and other cars. There are two different difficulty levels.
